West Lothian Council's Economic Development Service has committed to supporting more local businesses through StepsN2Work to create sustainable employment opportunities.

StepsN2Work

This is a grant aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses in West Lothian to create employment opportunities for local residents aged 16 - 24-year-old. Where possible young people being supported through the Wage Subsidy programme will also have the opportunity to access Modern Apprenticeship training opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Business is located in West Lothian and employs 50 or fewer staff
  • Can you create an additional opportunity for a West Lothian young person?
  • Businesses are committed to offering a minimum of 26 hours per week
  • 50% funding of National Minimum Wage for 16-17 year-olds for 52 weeks.
  • 50% funding of Real Living Wage for 18-24 year-olds for 26 weeks
