Training and Upskilling

You can greatly improve your career prospects by carrying out regular training. Whether you're looking to learn a completely new skill, or are simply looking to refresh and expand on your existing knowledge, there is a wide range of support available.

Individual Training Grant

If you are a West Lothian resident and the parent of a dependent child, you may be eligible for up to £2000 of funding to spend towards training and upskilling to improve your career prospects. This funding can be used towards learning a new skill, gaining a new qualification or certificate, or simply refreshing your existing skillset.

WomenN2Work

Lead by Access2Employment's Wellbeing team, WomenN2Work is a 6-week course created to support and encourage women to realise their potential and make positive changes for the future. Topics covered within the course include: wellbeing, empowerment and personal development, mock interview support, CV development, job searching, and more. At the end of the course, participants will receive an SQA qualification, boosting their employability.

MenN2Work

Lead by Access2Employment's Wellbeing team, MenN2Work is a 4-week course designed to support and assist participants in reaching their employment goals. Topics covered within the course include: physical and mental wellbeing, transferable skills, CV development, confidence and self-esteem building, mock interviews, job searching, and more. At the end of the course, participants will receive an SQA qualification, boosting their employability.

Flexible Workforce Development Fund

With this fund, businesses can receive funding of up to £5000 towards training and upskilling their existing employees via West Lothian College courses. There is a wide range of courses available, suitable for employees working in a variety of different industries. Please note, your employer must apply for this on your behalf.
