Invest in West Lothian Announces West Lothian Business Week!

The Invest in West Lothian team are proud to announce that the first ever West Lothian Business Week will be taking place from the 18^th – 22^nd of May 2026.

This will be a great opportunity for local business owners to attend valuable events, connect with likeminded entrepreneurs, and to celebrate local businesses. It will also raise awareness of the wide range of business support that is available in the area and highlight why West Lothian is a great place to do business.

There will be an exciting variety of events taking place throughout the week, including:

• Design-Led Innovation Workshop – taking place on Monday, the 18th of May, this in person workshop will highlight practical design-led methods to help small businesses and freelancers unlock fresh ideas, refine their offering, and innovate with confidence. It is taking place at the Voluntary Sector Gateway West Lothian office in Bathgate from 9:30am – 12:30pm.
• Simplifying the Business Start Up Process Networking Event - on Tuesday, the 19th of May, new and aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to join the Business Gateway West Lothian Start Up Advisers as they break down the wide range of support that is available to new businesses in West Lothian. There will also be an exciting panel taking place during the event, with three local business owners sharing their start up stories with attendees. This is taking place from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at West Lothian College.
• HR: The Essentials for Running a Business Webinar – as part of International HR Day on Wednesday, the 20th of May, Business Gateway will be hosting an informative webinar that will explore the essentials of HR, including hiring, interviewing, payroll, pensions, contracts and remote working. This is taking place online from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
• Meet the Council Drop In Event – local businesses can learn more about the support that is available to help them grow their business and overcome challenges. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from West Lothian Council services and partner organisations. This is taking place on Thursday, the 21st of May, from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Livingston Football Club, with attendees welcome to drop in at any time.
• West Lothian Business Week 2026 Networking Event – the week will end with an exciting networking event on Friday, the 22nd of May, from 9:30am – 11:30am at Bathgate Golf Club. This will be a great opportunity for attendees to hear from an inspiring guest speaker and to form valuable new connections.

Alongside the events, business owners can look forward to a calendar of informative external events, interesting social media content, brand new client case studies, and the West Lothian Business Week LinkedIn Challenge.
