FOOD AND DRINK

Food and Drink is a key growth sector for Scotland’s economy and it is hoped that the industry, as a whole, can build on its international reputation to increase productivity and growth.
In West Lothian, there are 270 Food and Drink companies with well-known names, including Scotch whisky producers Glenmorangie and Glen Turner. Key food producers in the area include Paterson Arran, United Central bakeries (Genius Gluten Free) and Macrae Edinburgh (Young's Seafood). The sector has a GVA of £121 million, with 3000 residents employed within it.

Glenmorangie
Glenmorangie has been the best selling single malt in Scotland almost every year since 1983 and around 10 million bottles are produced per annum.
Glenmorangie relocated its production facility from Broxburn to a purpose build state of the art site in Alba Business Park, Livingston.

Ian Macleod Distillers
Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd is an independent family ran distillery now in its 3rd generation.
In 1984 Broxburn Bottlers was established as a joint venture with J&G Grant, with continued investment in the Broxburn Plant the company produce over 15 million bottles of spirits every year.
