EVENT DETAILS

Time: 11:00am - 12:00pm
Location: Webinar
Thinking about hiring an apprentice? In one fast, practical hour, learn how apprenticeships work, the support available, and hear from real SMEs who’ve done it.
Scottish Apprenticeship Week (2–6 March) is a chance to highlight the important role apprenticeships play in helping people build careers and supporting businesses to grow.
But we know many small firms are still unsure about taking on an apprentice. FSB’s 2025 Big Small Business Survey found that three quarters of SMEs that responded have never employed an apprentice, often due to financial pressures, perceptions of a complex recruitment process, or simply not having enough time.
To help address this, FSB is hosting a free webinar — Scottish Apprenticeships: Working for SMEs — in partnership with Skills Development Scotland. The session will give small businesses clear, practical guidance on how apprenticeships work and the support available.
What You’ll Learn
- Hear from SME employers and apprentices about the real benefits they’ve experienced.
- How to introduce apprenticeships for new recruits or existing staff.
- What practical support is available to help you recruit or upskill through apprenticeships.
Who Should Attend?
