ReVentas Secure £3.5 million Scottish Enterprise Grant

Livingston-based business ReVentas has been awarded £3.5 million of grant funding from Scottish Enterprise to support the development of their solvent based recycling technology over the next three years. 

The funding, awarded as part of a £9m project, will help ReVentas further develop its proprietary recycling technology, with a particular focus on difficult to recycle plastics such as films found in food packaging. These materials remain one of the biggest challenges in plastic recycling today and will become an increasing priority for councils from 2028 onwards as requirements to collect and process films expands across the UK.

Funding for Businesses in West Lothian

The Invest in West Lothian team have extensive experience of preparing funding packages for local businesses of all sizes. Each month, we will highlight a new funding opportunity that is currently available to eligible businesses in the area.

Skills Innovation Fund

Capital City Partnership have announced an exciting new funding opportunity to help eligible West Lothian businesses create, develop and innovate skills projects which will aim to create and retain jobs, enable staff upskilling, and employee/citizen career progression.

Up to £10,000 of funding is available to eligible businesses within the following sectors:

• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Manufacturing
• Engineering and Robotics
• Construction: Net Zero and Retrofit

The deadline to submit an application is 5:00pm on Friday, the 14^th of August 2026.

1:1 Marketing and Branding Surgery Sessions

We are offering eligible West Lothian businesses the opportunity to have a 1-hour virtual 1:1 Surgery Session with Marketing and Branding expert, Paul Hunter. During the session, you can ask any questions that you have about Marketing and Branding or discuss a specific challenge your business is facing. These appointments are booked on a flexible basis on a day and time that works for you.

1:1 Procurement Surgery Sessions

1:1 free virtual surgery sessions are also available to book with procurement expert, Mandy Millar, Owner of Millar Tender Solutions. These sessions have been created to help West Lothian business owners improve their understanding of the procurement process and improve their success rate with tender bids. Sessions last 1-hour and flexible appointments are available.

Coming Soon… The Women in Entrepreneurship Programme

We are delighted to share that our popular Women in Entrepreneurship Programme will be returning in September! During this programme, attendees will learn how to review the current position of their businesses, identify opportunities for improvement, and create an actionable plan with clear objectives and goals. By the end of the programme, they will have built a comprehensive toolkit to help drive their businesses forward. The programme takes place over 4-weekly sessions, delivered by the fantastic Michelle Brown.
