West Lothian business AlignBirth recognised as one of UK’s 100 most inspiring small firms

A West Lothian business has been recognised as one of UK’s 100 most inspiring small firms.
Following a nationwide search, AlignBirth has been selected as part of this year’s line-up, which showcases the most innovative and admired small firms across the country, as part of the countdown to Small Business Saturday.
AlignBirth is an award-winning prenatal and postnatal programme supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and recovery, helping women reduce pain, prepare confidently for labour, and rebuild strength postnatally.
The company’s founder Meghan Campbell said: “I first turned to yoga after being diagnosed with PCOS, at a time when doctors told me it was likely I would never have children.
“Yoga transformed my health and ultimately, made it possible for me to become a mum. That experience was a turning point and I realised how powerful these tools could be, not only for fertility but also for pregnancy, birth, and recovery.
“Through my first pregnancy and postpartum I saw just how little physical and emotional support there was for women. Too often we’re told “that’s just how it is” whether it’s pregnancy pain, birth trauma, or a lack of meaningful recovery guidance. I knew women deserved better. That gap inspired me to specialise in pregnancy and postpartum support.
“Over the years I’ve worked with hundreds of women, listening to their journeys and the support they felt was missing. During my second pregnancy I began building AlignBirth, not just a set of classes, but a movement of women preparing differently.
“I launched the programme early so I could shape it around real member feedback, and today it offers whole-journey support: reducing pain in pregnancy, preparing body and mind for labour, and truly recovering postnatally. Unlike standard antenatal classes, we cover the biomechanics of birth, nervous system regulation for hormonal support, and postnatal rehab at a time when NHS checks simply aren’t enough.”
For the last 13 years, the 100 businesses have not only received exposure on Small Business Saturday’s social media channels and in the local and national press, but also joined the Small Business Saturday team in London at receptions in Downing Street, House of Lords and the Treasury Drum with the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Meghan added: “Being selected as one of the UK’s SmallBiz100 is an incredible honour, but for me it’s not just about recognition.
“What matters most is the impact AlignBirth has on women’s lives, helping them move from fear to confidence, from pain to strength, and proving that better birth and recovery experiences are absolutely possible.”
