West Lothian Business Week is Here!
Local businesses are being encouraged to get involved and support West Lothian Business Week, taking place from today, the 18th of May, and ending on the 22nd of May 2026.
Organised by the Invest in West Lothian team, West Lothian Business Week has been created to raise awareness of the wide range of business support that is available in the area and to highlight why West Lothian is a great place to do business. Throughout the week, attendees will have the opportunity to attend informative events, connect with likeminded entrepreneurs, and to celebrate local businesses.
The week is kicking off with an exciting new Design-Led Innovation workshop taking place in Bathgate. Business owners attending the session will learn about practical design-led methods to help small businesses and freelancers unlock fresh ideas, refine their offering, and innovate with confidence. They will get to hear from guest speaker David Wray, Managing Director of local business Grease Monkey, who will be sharing his story with the group.
The events will continue throughout the week. On Tuesday, the 19th, new and aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to attend the ‘Simplifying the Business Start Up Process’ Networking Event at West Lothian College in Livingston from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. This informative session will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about the support that is available for new businesses in the area and to network with other attendees. There will also be a small business owner panel, featuring Bill Corbett, Owner of LuxeSeals, Huseyin Can Agdemir, Owner of CupCoffee, and Karen John, Owner of Haven Life Coaching, who will be telling us all about their start up journeys.
On Wednesday, the 20th, Business Gateway will be hosting an informative ‘HR: The Essentials for Running a Business’ webinar that will cover topics including hiring, interviewing, payroll, pensions, contracts and remote working. This is taking place online from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
This will be followed by a ‘Meet the Council’ drop in event on Thursday, the 21st, at Livingston Football Club from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Local business owners can stop by at any time to meet representatives from West Lothian Council services, including Economic Development, Procurement, and Property Services, to learn more about how they can support business growth.
Then, to end the week, the team will be hosting a ‘West Lothian Business Week 2026’ Networking Event on Friday, the 22nd, from 9:30am – 11:30am. During this, attendees can reflect on the week and hear from guest speaker Lindsay Girvan, Owner of Future Vintage, who will be sharing her inspiring business journey with the group.
All of the events are free to attend and can be booked via the Invest in West Lothian website here: https://www.investinwestlothian.com/news-events/events/west-lothian-business-week-2026/
During the week, the Invest in West Lothian team will also be taking part in the West Lothian Business Week LinkedIn Challenge. Local businesses and residents can learn more and get involved here.
