The Paw Patrol

Sam Young, Owner of the Paw Patrol

Self-employment is a fantastic option for parents, offering the flexibility to work around family needs while being your own boss. There is a wide range of support available to guide you through the start-up process.

Recently, Business Gateway West Lothian's Start Up Adviser Lenna, and Access2Employment's Parental Employment Support Adviser Lauren, were delighted to help Fauldhouse resident and single parent Sam Young launch her dream business, The Paw Patrol. This included providing help with creating a clear business plan, carrying out a financial forecast, and funding towards initial start up costs. With this support, Sam was able to launch her dog walking service with confidence.

Sam said, “I am so grateful to Access2Employment & Business Gateway West Lothian for their continuous support and encouragement on my journey to self employment.

A year ago I was a single mum relying on help from food banks and friends and now I am absolutely living my dream of working with animals offering a dog walking service, pet visiting/feeding service and now launching 'The Paw Patrol Poochy Parties' coming summer 2025. I cannot thank Lenna and Lauren enough for being on this wonderful journey with me.”
