Job Description:
The postholder is responsible for coordinating and delivering capital works, responsive
repairs, remedial works, and complex damp, mould and building preservation cases across
the Council’s housing stock. This includes ensuring full compliance with Awaab’s Law, Right
to Repair legislation, Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and all statutory requirements
relating to health, safety and property condition
Experience and Qualifications:
Time-served tradesperson or recognised dampness/building preservation
qualification (e.g. CSRT, CSTDB or equivalent)
• Experience line manager responsibility of supervising staff or contractors in
construction or building maintenance, particularly in damp, mould and building
pathology
• Extensive knowledge of:
o Awaab’s Law and statutory compliance requirements
o Right to Repair legislation and compensation thresholds
o Housing disrepair and legal implications
o Building pathology, diagnostic techniques and remedial solutions
o CDM Regulations and health & safety legislation
o Construction methods, materials and structural behaviour
• A full, valid UK driving licence is essential for this post.
