Job Description:
This is a key leadership role where you will ensure all mobile and fixed plant equipment is maintained safely, efficiently, and in line with operational, environmental, and compliance standards.
You will play a critical role in developing and embedding a proactive maintenance culture, improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting the continued growth and success of the business. Working closely with operational teams, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives and use maintenance data and asset management systems to maximise plant availability and performance.
Experience and Qualifications:
Proven experience leading maintenance or engineering teams within recycling, waste management, heavy industry, or similar industrial environments.
Strong technical background in heavy plant maintenance, including material handlers, excavators, loading shovels, shredders, balers, crushers, conveyors, and associated equipment.
Excellent knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Experience developing and implementing preventative maintenance and reliability-centred maintenance strategies.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice within industrial environments.
Experience managing maintenance budgets and controlling maintenance expenditure.
Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and continuous improvement mindset.
Relevant engineering, mechanical, electrical, or maintenance qualifications are desirable
