Job Title: Hotel Night Porter

Salary: From £12.50 per hour

Job Description:
During the night shift, duties include checking in late arrivals and checking out early departures, assisting guests with taxi requests, and preparing hot beverages when required. Responsibilities also extend to supporting the overnight closedown, setting up event spaces for upcoming weddings or functions, and carrying out cleaning tasks as needed. Throughout the night, guest liaison is a key focus, serving as the first point of contact for any emergencies, issues, or complaints to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Experience and Qualifications:
Our Night Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our hotel, you will need to be a responsible and reliable person. We are looking for a hard-working individual who doesn’t mind being a night owl. We require someone who has: A genuine, warm professional manner Good communication skills, and level of English – both written and spoken; Excellent customer focus and teamwork skills, who is also a confident decision maker and effective when working on their own. Strong attention to detail and to be IT savvy, ensuring we ‘get it right first time’ whether that be someone’s room allocation, their bill or in just being intuitive enough to notice the details as small as what type of tea they like… Ability to stay calm under pressure, taking any complications in your stride. Effortlessly deal with problems as they arise and ensure standards are maintained at all times. Experience working overnights preferably, previous hotel experience and basic computer skills are an advantage, full training on systems used is provided. A good level of physical fitness; and comfortable with lone working.
