Job Description:
The Joiner carries out responsive and planned joinery repairs, maintenance and installation
work across the Council’s housing and non-housing properties.
The postholder diagnoses defects, completes work safely and to the required standard,
keeps accurate job records and provides a professional service to customers. Work may be
undertaken independently or as part of a repairs or refurbishment team.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Joinery repairs and installation
Diagnose and complete joinery repairs to doors, windows, floors, partitions, fixtures, fittings
and other building fabric within the scope of the trade.
Install, replace and maintain kitchens, bathroom joinery,
Experience and Qualifications:
A recognised joinery apprenticeship and relevant trade qualification.
Experience of diagnosing and completing building maintenance or construction joinery work
to a good standard.
Knowledge of safe working practices and the regulations, standards and codes of practice
relevant to the work assigned.
Ability to use relevant woodworking tools and equipment safely and maintain accurate job
records.
Ability to communicate effectively with tenants, colleagues and supervisors and to plan work
with other trades.
A full valid driving licence
