Job Description:
Supervise, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of renewable design engineers while managing the overall design pipeline. Allocate design resources effectively to support Project Managers, Contracts Managers, and field installation teams. Conduct technical reviews to ensure strict numerical accuracy, design integrity, and compliance across all team outputs. Optimize Solar PV, Air Source Heat Pump, and heat recovery designs to maximize long-term reliability and cost-effectiveness. Guide the team in translating client briefs into high-margin, innovative investment-grade energy proposals.
Experience and Qualifications:
Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Sustainability, Renewable Energy, or Systems Design). Valid Driver’s License (required for site visits and client presentations). Proven experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical project components within a fast-paced engineering environment. Strong practical experience designing and specifying domestic and commercial energy efficiency solutions, specifically Solar PV and Heat Pump technologies. Demonstrated success in translating energy data into financial savings, carbon-reduction strategies, and persuasive client proposals. Highly competent in technical design software, database systems, Microsoft Office, and the Adobe suite. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex technical data clearly to non-technical commercial clients and multi-disciplinary teams. Hands-on experience developing functional strategies and procedures for large-scale carbon reduction. Deep knowledge of retrofit frameworks, planning permissions, and Building Regulation compliance documentation within the built environment.
