Job Description:
Shahi Grill is looking for a passionate and reliable Second Chef to support our Head Chef in delivering authentic, high-quality Indian cuisine. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Indian cooking who is eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced kitchen. Key Responsibilities Assist the Head Chef with the preparation and cooking of authentic Indian dishes. Prepare ingredients, sauces, marinades, and curries to the restaurant's standards. Ensure all food is prepared and presented consistently and to a high standard. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation. Support with stock rotation, stock control, and ordering when required

Experience and Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Second Chef, Chef de Partie, or similar role in an Indian restaurant. Good knowledge of traditional Indian cuisine, spices, and cooking techniques. Ability to work calmly under pressure in a busy kitchen. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Good understanding of food hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred). A positive attitude and willingness to learn. Make side dishes and starters such as onion bhaji, Pakoras exmaple You could include it as a responsibility like this: Prepare and cook a variety of Indian starters and side dishes, including onion bhajis, vegetable and chicken pakoras, samosas, seekh kebabs, tandoori starters, poppadom accompaniments, chutneys, and naan breads. Ensure all starters and side dishes are prepared consistently to Shahi Grill's recipes and presentation standards. Assist with the preparation of curries, rice dishes, breads, and other menu items as required. Maintain quality, freshness, and portion control throughout service.
