Job Description:
The Service Manager is the senior operational lead within Open Door Scotland. You will have delegated responsibility for the day-to-day running of services, leading Team Leaders and staff to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred support. This is a role for someone who wants genuine ownership. You will oversee people management, rotas, quality assurance, compliance, and operational performance, while working closely with the CEO.
Experience and Qualifications:
Meets SSSC Registered Manager requirements (or is willing to work towards this) and holds PVG membership (or is willing to join). Leads Team Leaders and staff with calm, consistent leadership—sets clear expectations, follows through reliably, and stays steady under pressure. Strong operational experience managing rotas, staffing cover, and day-to-day service delivery, ensuring continuity and safe practice. Makes young person-first decisions that protect safety, dignity, and outcomes, applying trauma-informed, person-centred practice that promotes respect, choice, and stability. Demonstrates risk-smart safeguarding judgement and sound knowledge of relevant legislation and care standards, with confident escalation and learning from incidents. Uses data, observed practice, feedback, and supervision to drive continuous improvement, with a reflective, learning-led approach after complaints, incidents, or safeguarding concerns.
