Job Description:
Transport Planning & Operations. Plan and coordinate daily vehicle movements for Class 1 and Class 2 HGVs. Optimise routes to ensure maximum efficiency, cost control, and service. Allocate work to drivers in line with legal compliance and operational requirements. Monitor vehicle utilisation, driver performance, and delivery schedules. Respond proactively to operational issues, delays, and last-minute changes. Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
Experience and Qualifications:
Proven experience within the haulage or logistics industry. Strong working knowledge of Class 1 (C+E) and Class 2 (Category C) HGV operations. Experience in transport planning, routing, or traffic management. Good understanding of UK transport compliance and driver regulations. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to manage drivers and stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
